Oakland U. Offers Film Studies Degree

Oakland, Mich. (WXYZ)-This fall Oakland University will introduce a Bachelor of Arts Degree in cinema studies.

Coursework will include film history, film theory, video production and screenwriting.

The university is hoping the new degree will draw in popular filmmakers and critics to campus.

Students participating in the program could pursue a career in film criticism, production, film archiving, screenwriting, story editing, advertising, marketing, and legal presentation.
