Rally For Obama's Speech Downtown

(WXYZ)  Hundreds of people gathered in Eastern Market tonight to watch Barack Obama accept the Democratic nomination for president.  The rally also marked the 45th anniversary of both Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s "I Have a Dream" speech and the "Great March to Freedom" down Woodward.

It was during the "Great March to Freedom" in June of 1963 that King gave an early version of the Dream speech at Cobo Hall.

Tonight's event began with a walk from Cobo Center to Eastern Market.  Speakers then addressed the crowd before Senator Obama's speech in Denver.
