DETROIT (WXYZ) - Reports of shots fired near Cody 9th Grade Academy sent parents rushing to the school to check on their kids.
WATCH ACTION NEWS COVERAGE IN THE VIDEO PLAYER ON THE RIGHTA principal called 911 around 9:15 a.m. after hearing what she thought was gun fire. The school was also put on lock down. It has yet to be determined if any shots were fired near the school. Police searched the area and said they could find nothing.
The reports come just 2 days after 7 students were shot at a nearby gas station. 3 of those students are still in the hospital. Police have a suspect in custody in that case.
600 students attend summer classes at Cody 9th Grade Academy. A number of them left with there parents after the lock down was lifted.
