OAK PARK, Mich. (WXYZ) - A mystery that began to unfold more than three decades ago is taking a new turn. Relatives of victims in the Oakland County Child Killer case met with detectives for an update on the investigation.
It's been more than 30 years since four children were murdered, all believed to be victims of the notorious killer.
The family of one of the victims met Tuesday with the task force that's been investigating the crimes.
The family of Timmy King, who was snatched from the streets of Birmingham back in 1977, has been frustrated in recent weeks, telling The Detroit News that investigators have been sitting on information.
Investigators won't confirm any of the details that the King family shared with the newspaper this week, telling Action News there's nothing new in the case.
The family of Timmy King identified a man by the name of Chris Busch, who committed suicide back in 1978, shortly after the killings ended.
Busch lived on Morningview Terrace Drive in Bloomfield Township with his parents, Harold and Elsie Busch. Both are now deceased. Harold Busch was a prominent GM executive.
According to The News, the home was searched last year in an attempt to locate any hairs or fibers that could be linked to the killings.
The News reported Chris Busch was a known pedophile who'd been questioned by police, but like all the other suspects was never charged.
Timmy King's family told The News the tip about Chris Busch came from one of Timmy's friends. The friend, now 49 years old, says a polygraph expert out of Southfield told him he once tested Chris Busch, and that Busch had killed Timmy. That polygraph expert now denies it.
