ROSEVILLE, Mich. (WXYZ) - Arguments erupted in court between a man claiming to be a financial advisor and the victims who trusted him. Police say he was running a fraudulent mortgage consulting business and preyed on desperate homeowners.
Roseville Police arrested 48-year-old Bryan Cervier of Grosse Pointe Woods Thursday.
Investigators say he would meet with homeowners on the verge of their losing the homes to foreclosure. For a fee, he would renegotiate the terms of the victim's mortgage. But once the victims paid that fee, they never heard from him again.
Cervier was unable to post bond and will stay in jail until his next court date later this month.
