MDOT is investing $60 million to reconstruct nearly four miles of M-59 in Macomb County.

The two year project starts in March.

Crews will work from M-53 to west of Garfield Road.  It will continue to Romeo Plank Road.

During the first year, they will replace all concrete with new asphalt, improve drainage and upgrade ramps.

Once that work is complete, crews will add a fourth lane to both sides of M-59 between Garfield and Romeo Plank roads.

Three lanes will be open in each direction east of M-53 and Romeo Plank Road daily from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.

The project is expected to be finished by October, 2018.
