(WXYZ) - Macomb County Executive Mark A. Hackel, along with representatives form the Michigan Department of Natural Resources, have named and banded four Peregrine Falcon chicks that have made their home atop the Old County Building in Macomb County.
The Peregrine chicks, three female, and one male, were hatched in mid-May of 2014.
Executive Hackel had the honor of naming the Peregrine Falcons. Their names are Hero, COMTEC, Jo and Max.
“I named these four falcons after people that have made a special impact in Macomb County,” said Executive Hackel. “I am honored that they have once again chosen to make Macomb their home.”
Peregrine Falcons still remain listed as an endangered species under state law and remain protected under the Migratory Bird Treaty Act.
