(WXYZ) - A 30-year-old Chesterfield Township man was arrested Tuesday night in connection with a fatal Woodward crash last week.
Three people were killed in a crash that closed Woodward at Cortland, on the border of Highland Park and Detroit last week.
Woodward was shut down for hours while police investigated.
Sources tell 7 Action News Highland Park Police were trying to pull over a vehicle and the driver refused. They backed off to avoid a dangerous situation, but the vehicle eventually crashed into a medical transport van.Three passengers in the van died from injuries sustained in the accident. The victims were apparently on the way to a dialysis center.
The driver will be held at the Highland Park Police Department until his arraignment on Wednesday, according to police.
The man faces charges of second degree murder, operating under the influence of liquor and reckless driving causing death.
