In Redford, “Moe” is the man people rely on to get their rides running right.

He also sells a few cars on the side. Recently a man driving a church van stopped by his shop, New Rhodes Auto Repair, located on Telegraph Road.

The guy wanted to know about a tan 2002 Volvo S-80 parked out front. He was interested in buying the vehicle.  Moe got the keys, started it up and answered a few questions.

The man in the church van said he was interested and he would be back. He returned later that night, when the shop was closed and ripped off the ride.

Moe was surprised when he pulled up the security camera and saw the man from earlier in the day.

The name on the church van was Jerusalem Baptist Church.

Moe called around to area churches with no luck. He filed a police report with the Redford Police Department.

Now, he is wondering if the church van holds the clue to the identity of the car thief, or if the van was a cover up. If you recognize the van or the man in the video, please contact Redford police.
