Livonia police have arrested a man who they say stole exotic animals worth thousands of dollars.

Police say Kristin Bernard Bates was recently arraigned on charges of receiving and concealing stolen property.

There is some good news for the owners of Stingers Exotic Pet Store: 11 of the more than 20 animals that were stolen have been recovered, according to the shop's Facebook page.

The owners are still reeling after the break-in nearly a month ago. This isn't just any merchandise, these are living, breathing, eating pets.

7 Action News has learned the group of animals taken included at least eleven bearded dragons, two that were the owner's personal pets.

A bearded dragon is a type of exotic lizard.

The owners are asking people to watch out for their stolen animals possibly being sold online.
