Several historic buildings damaged from fire in downtown Lapeer

LAPEER, Mich. (WXYZ) - Firefighters in Lapeer worked throughout the night to put out a fire that burned through several buildings in its historic downtown district.

Most of the blaze was on the block between North Court Street and Pine Street.

Many of the buildings in that area are considered historic, including the PIX Theater.

Lapeer Mayor William Sprague says about 25 people were displaced in apartments above the buildings.

Thankfully, there were no injuries from this fire.

Firefighters are still trying to figure out how this all started.
