(WXYZ) - During a press conference this afternoon, Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan said he could envision EM Kevyn Orr working as an advisor or expert for the city beyond his scheduled departure date of Sept. 27.
Orr was appointed by the governor for an 18-month term, however his expertise may be needed longer, according to Duggan. Duggan said he is open to working with Orr longer.
Meantime, members of city council have been vocal about returning control of city finances to them and the mayor's office as soon as possible. The recent comments by Duggan were transcribed during a bankruptcy hearing.
