DETROIT (WXYZ) - You may be hearing the crack of bats in Florida, but if you're a football fan, you're not quite ready to let football season fade.
The Detroit Lions know this and will be holding the inaugural 'Taste of the Lions' event at Ford Field this spring.
On Tuesday, May 7, the Lions will host what they call "a strolling wine and food event" at Ford Field.
You'll have your choice of menu from over 20 of the top restaurants around town.
For $150, you get a ticket to the General Admission portion of the reception which begins at 7:30 p.m. Your ticket allows you to enjoy live music and meet with Lions players, coaches and some of the alumni.
There's a VIP reception that starts at 6:30 p.m. If you're a VIP you'll be able to listen to music in the locker room, enjoy a private reception and have earlier access to the food.
Some of the restaurants involved are Slows Barbecue, the Forest Grille, Steve and Rocky's, Bacco Ristorante, and members of the Schoolcraft College Culinary Arts program.
Your donations will go to "Living for the City," a partnership of the Eastern Market and the Detroit Lions helping Detroit with healthier food choices.
Tickets are already on sale at www. Detroitlions.com , or www. Ticketmaster.com .
