Memorial Day weekend is upon us, and many cities in metro Detroit are celebrating the holiday with parades and services.
Memorial Day falls on the last Monday in May, and is observed in remembrance for those who have died in service of the United States of America.
The weekend also kicks off a number of festivals across the area.

DETROIT
Bel Air Luxury Cinema
- Movie theater offering free movie tickets for all Military including active, veterans and military spouses (offer runs Friday through Monday.)
Memorial Day Mass
- Mt. Olivet Cemetery near the main office around 10 a.m. on Memorial Day
- Mt. Elliott Cemetery at the St. Bonaventure Monastery Chapel around 10:30 a.m. on Memorial Day

- Music festival runs May 27-May 29 at Hart Plaza in Detroit
EASTPOINTE
Memorial Day Parade
- Starts at 11 am. on Memorial Day on Gratiot Avenue in front of City Hall
Memorial Day Ceremony
- Starts at noon on Memorial Day at Kennedy Park followed by a community picnic
FARMINGTON HILLS
Memorial Day Parade
- Starts at 10 a.m. on Memorial Day near Grand River Avenue and Orchard Lake Road
Memorial Day Ceremony
- Ceremony follows parade at Farmington War Memorial Monument in Memorial Park

Memorial Day Ceremony
- City of Livonia to hold ceremony at Veterans Memorial Plaza starting at 9 a.m. on Saturday

Memorial Day Parade
- Starts at 10 a.m. on Saturday near John R. and former K-Mart plaza
MILAN
Memorial Day Ceremony & Parade
- Ceremony begins at 9 a.m. at Marble Park Cemetery. Parade follows to the Veterans Wall of Honor in Wilson Park. Closing ceremony at the Wall of Honor
MILFORD
Kensington Art Fair
- Runs Saturday, Sunday and Monday at Kensington Metropark (10 a.m. until 5 p.m.)

46th Annual St. Mary's Polish Country Fair
