Waterford Township police say a man died after his pickup crashed and then rolled into a river early Monday morning.

According to police, the truck, driven by a 20-year-old Milford man, driving a 2007 GMC Sierra, was traveling east on Hatchery Rd. and lost control coming out of the curve at Edmore Rd. That's just west of Dixie Highway.

Police say the pickup then crossed left of center, struck a construction trailer mounted arrow board and fence line and flipped on its roof, becoming partially submerged in the Clinton River right near Loon Lake.

The passenger, a 22-year-old Waterford man, was trapped in the vehicle and was conscious and speaking. The 20-year-old Milford man was trapped and submerged under water. He was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Right now, police are investigating. It's not clear if alcohol was a factor in the crash or if seatbelts were worn.
