TROY, Michigan (WXYZ) - Runners from Michigan who participated in the Boston Marathon, are reaching out to raise money for Red Cross disaster relief.
The event runs from 6-11pm tonight Thursday June 13th,
See below for Admission requirements.
It's billed as a "welcome home" celebration for runners who were participating in the Boston Marathon when terrorists blew up bombs at the finish line.
Tony Targan of West Bloomfield was there. He says tonight's event is important for runners, to help them find a sense of closure following the horror in Boston. Targan will read a personal article tonight that he wrote for Michigan Runner Magazine. "In sharing my story... I want other people to feel a sense that it's okay to share their stories and to actually share their joy at participating in Boston as well," says Targan.
The event is called: "In The Long Run," and it's hosted by the Tri-County Business Exchange.
