GARDEN CITY, Mich. (WXYZ) - A desperate search is continuing for an elderly woman who walked out of Garden City Hospital's emergency room on July 14 around 2:30 p.m.
Garden City Police confirm that 75-year-old Judith Gonzalez was reported missing by her daughter, Denise Streiner. Gonzalez suffers from dementia and severe paranoia, according to her family.
Gonzalez was taken by ambulance to Garden City Hospital from St. Jude Nursing Center in Livonia after a feeding tube came loose.
"She did not want want to stay there, she did not want them to do the procedure," said Streiner. "She just wanted out."
Police have been searching for Gonzalez and they have been joined by family members and friends, who are becoming increasingly desperate for her well being.
Gonzalez normally uses a walker, but did not have it with her. She also suffers from Osteoporosis. Gonzalez is in need of medication. The missing woman is approximately 4'7 and weighs 110 lbs. She was wearing a grey sweatshirt and grey sweatpants when she left the hospital.
