WARREN - Metro Detroit was under a blanket of snow by 7 o'clock Monday morning; just in time to cause major headaches for the morning commute. Depending on where you live you may have seen anywhere from six to 16 inches of snow.
Mondays are bad enough as it is, but you know it's going to be one of those days when your late night burger run is put on hold because you need a snowmobile just to get to the drive-thru.
We tried to help a guy stuck on Mound Road in Warren, right in front of McDonald's. Fortunately for him he was able to get out, but with no thanks to the roads.
"They're crap. If you can stay inside do it", said Chris Nwalzie who gave up on the burger after he was released from his icy confines.
That was around 3 o'clock Monday morning and things wouldn't improve until around the time the sun came up, which is when traffic is about as busy as it gets until the evening rush.
Things are looking much better as of noon. The good news for most of us? The snow is no longer falling at such a heavy pace. The bad news? The temperature's descent has just begun. We're expecting the temperature to drop down to 12 below zero, without the wind chill factor.
