It’s an unusual case for the U.S. Marshals - a fugitive with an alias even they can’t crack.

With family helping him it’s a fugitive they need your help to find.

Gary Davis has an identical twin brother and police believe he’s living under his brother’s alias.

An easy swap right? Well, that makes it twice as difficult for police, especially considering they can’t find the brother either.

“So, Davis back in 2016 broke into his ex-girlfriend’s house, physically assaulted her and then fled the scene,” says Deputy U.S. Marshal Justin Efthemiou.

It’s the latest in what police call Gary Davis’ life filled with criminal activity.

“This individual has an extensive criminal history including multiple burglary charges, fraud, robbery and even narcotics trafficking,” says Efthemiou.

The latest offense happened in Texas, but the U.S. Marshals say Davis is back home in Detroit - with family helping him staying at large.

“Davis has an identical twin brother and we believe, the authorities believe that Davis has assumed his twin brothers identity which he has done in the past,” says Efthemiou.

That’s right. Even law enforcement can’t tell fugitive Gary Davis from his identical twin brother, Gregory Davis.

“It actually poses quite a challenge because when you have two identical individuals and one can be using the others identity- he’s going to be hard to find,” says Efthemiou.

Gary Davis is 50-years-old. He’s 5’10” 180 pounds – wanted in both Texas and Michigan.

“He has 7 active warrants out of Michigan - actually out of Detroit and Port Huron so somebody out there is helping him,” says Efthemiou.

As always there’s a cash reward for information leading to the arrest of Gary Davis- you can call the U.S. Marshals anytime at 313-234-5656.
