Multiple law enforcement agencies join forces to track down suspect in random vehicle shootings

(WXYZ) - Multiple law enforcement agencies are working together to try and track down the suspect who has shot at vehicles in several communities.

On Friday, investigators from Oakland, Livingston and Ingham counties, along with State Police met to map out a strategy, review tips and discuss ways to stop this shooter.

There have been at least 15 random shootings, according to authorities.

The Oakland County Sheriff's Department, Wixom Police, Michigan State Police, Livingston and Ingham County Sheriff's Departments are working as a task force of sorts.

Wixom Police Chief Clarence Goodlein says he thinks there is a good chance there is one shooter, driving and firing a semi-automatic handgun out of a dark-colored vehicle, possibly with blue headlights and a stripe down the side.

During a news conference held Friday afternoon, Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard says law enforcement agencies are taking this very seriously and are asking anyone with information to call 1-800-SPEAK-UP.

No one was hurt in the shootings, but there were some very close calls.

The shootings began around 7:00 p.m. on October 16 and continued through October 18 around 6:40 p.m.
