Even travelers who have pre-check might be interested in a new tool that was just added Metro Airport.

It's called Clear.

Clear is a program with fingerprint and eye scanning technology that is only in 17 other airports.

It costs travelers about $180 a year and by getting a fingerprint and eye scan when you sign up, you then get to skip to the front of the security line.

While checking out the new technology, we actually caught up with a man who has had it for several years because he signed up in Florida.

"It allows you to get to the airport pretty close to your flight time, usually we get there 45 minutes before it's never more than a 2 or 3 minute wait."

Other frequent travelers, like Thomas Malone - who flies about 3 times a month - said the idea is intriguing.

"It would be interesting to look at to see how it goes, TSA pre-check used to be pretty exclusive but now there's a lot of people with it."

People who already use it are hopeful Clear will expand to more airports.

"I think the more people that use it, the more places it will go and the easier it will be for everyone."

Clear again is optional, you have to sign up and pay for it, but it's not through any airline. Clear agents say the idea is to shorten lines all around.
