(WXYZ) - Detroit is the cover story of this Sunday's New York Times Magazine.
Writer Ben Austen tells 7 Action News, it is a look at a city that has been declared dead and the autopsy written. And while billionaire businessman Dan Gilbert is playing real life monopoly in Downtown Detroit, other parts of Detroit are seeing a turnaround with small business startups and growth.
He features the area at 7 Mile and Livernois that is known as The Aveune of Fashion. It has seen better days but more small business owners are taking the risk.
Austen says there's still plenty of "disaster porn" in Detroit. And a comeback for everyone including Gilbert is far from certain.
