OAKLAND COUNTY, Mich. (WXYZ) — An Oakland County postal worker allegedly stole United States mail meant for delivery, according to a federal complaint.

On Oct. 10, 2018, a postal service customer in Bloomfield Hills said they never received a Citizen's Bank debit card they were expecting in the mail. Citizen's Bank told the customer the debit card had been used to withdraw $100 cash from an ATM in Dearborn on Oct. 1. The customer filed a police report.

Postal service officials say the worker assigned to the customer's address was identified as Brittany Kirtley, who had been delivering mail in that area since March 2017.

Kirtley admitted to authorities that she has stolen mail assigned to her for delivery or pickup since August 2018. Agents recovered approximately 86 credit, debit or gift cards not belonging to Kirtley, in addition to mail.

She admitted to agents that she used some of the credit, debit and gift cards.
