7 Action News has obtained recordings of 911 calls made after that massive 53 vehicle pile-up on I-96.

The 911 calls recorded by Livingston County Dispatch teach an all to tragic lesson of just how quickly disaster can happen, when the roads are icy and there are suddenly white out conditions.

The Livingston County Sheriff’s Office says eleven people suffered injuries and three people died in the crash.

Sixty-nine-year old Homer Leon Tew and his wife sixty-two-year-old Theresa O’Connor Tew from Ann Arbor were traveling together when they lost their lives in the crash.

The third victim was a twenty-eight-year-old man from Florida. His name is not being released because his family has not yet been officially notified.

The interstate was closed for twelve hours as investigators collected evidence to help them reconstruct what happened.

The investigation continues.
