Once again, it’s time for Channel  7’s Community Comments.  Our station editorial and Action News stories challenging state lawmakers to come to the aid of Michigan fire fighters who suffer from work-related cancer, prompted this message from Ronald Britt of Brownston.

“Thank you WXYZ for getting our members of State Government back on track.  My son-in-law is a fire fighter in Dearborn Heights and he puts his life in danger every time he works.  I support you 100%.”

Our editorial on the Michigan Presidential Primary Election, triggered this thought from Roland Mills.

“I am not crazy about the results here in Michigan but I respect the final vote totals.  There was great voter participation for the Primary and the electorate certainly expressed their feeling at the polls.  What more can we ask for?”

Colleen Jackson liked our 100 year anniversary salute to the Detroit Urban League.  She writes:

“Just think about all of the struggles the Urban League has endured and all of the contributions it has made over the last century.   It’s an amazing organization.  Keep supporting it!”

And finally, these comments about our Detroit Public Schools editorial.  Tyrone Sammut writes:

“The State of Michigan is squarely responsible for the financial problem facing DPS.  Lawmakers owe it to the kids to help the system erase its debt.”

But Alice Belamy has a different point of view.  She said:

“What assurance do we have that this won’t happen again if we use our hard earned tax dollars to bail DPS out?  Be careful lawmakers!”

That’s it for now.  Thanks for writing.
