WXYZ/Channel 7 is thrilled to join the Detroit Conservancy 300 and DTE Energy Foundation in kicking off the 13th annual Detroit Tree Lighting ceremony.  As the official broadcast partner, we take great pride in presenting a one-hour LIVE broadcast and online stream of this wonderful event.

It's a great way for Campus Martius Park to celebrate its birthday and shift into high gear the Motor City's holiday season. From our downtown studio at the Qube, we have a picture perfect view of Detroit's 60-foot Michigan-grown Norway Spruce holiday tree.  We invite you to come on down and witness first-hand the beauty of 19-thousand multi-colored lights and ornaments.  It will be a memorable moment!

Our broadcast center here also gives us a unique and daily perspective on Detroit's progress.  The new restaurants, buildings, retail outlets and entertainment venues that are popping up everywhere.  And, in a few months, the city's M-1, Q-Line street car will begin transporting passengers from Midtown to downtown.  The energy in our town has become electric.

But the gathering spot, Campus Martius, has become the heart of Detroit.  No wonder 4-time Grammy Award Winner Aaron Neville and Olympic Gold Medalists Meryl Davis and Charlie White want to perform there among families and friends enjoying all that the park has to offer.

If you haven't visited downtown Detroit lately, you're missing an urban treat of renovation and revitalization!  Do yourself a favor, come see why the "D" has become the place national media love to report on.  If you start your exploration with Detroit's spectacular Christmas tree, you won't be able to stop there!
