WARREN (WXYZ) - "It makes me angry," says the mother of one of the teens recently followed by a suspicious man near Fitzgerald High School in Warren.
Detectives believe two teen girls were followed by the man who drove by them slowly as they walked alone near their high school on Ryan Road near Nine Mile Road.
In one case, we're told the man tried talking to the teen, glaring at her as he drove close enough to frighten her before she threatened to call 911 if he didn't leave her alone.
In another case, the man slowly drove by the girl several times while staring at her. When the girl pulled out her cell phone to try to take a picture of the man and his car, he took off.
Police have not ruled out that the same man appeared suspicious to a 12-year-old girl as he drove past her in the same area.
Two incidents took place this month. One was reported in February.
Police say the man is described as middle eastern, in his late 20's or 30's with a scruffy beard.
Fitzgerald Public Schools sent letters home to parents to notify them of the suspicious man so they can encourage their children to use caution around strangers.
In one case the man was seen driving a tan four-door car, while in another case he was driving an older green two-door car.
