Person of interest arrested in MSU murder

(WXYZ) - Grand Rapids Police have arrested a person of interest in the shooting death of a Michigan State University student, according to the East Lansing Police Department.

The 20-year-old man peacefully surrendered after a standoff with police. The Grand Rapids Police say he was arrested on a parole violation and the East Lansing police confirm he is also a person of interest in the murder of 20-year-old Dominique James Nolff.

On January 31, East Lansing Police say they found two Michigan State University students and roommates in need of help. Someone had shot them in their Cedar Village apartment.

Nolff died of his injuries. His roommate was treated with non-life threatening injuries.

Nolff was a hospitality business major from Middleville and was known by friends as D.J.

East Lansing Police are asking anyone with information that could help their investigation to call their detective bureau at 517-319-6884.
