(WXYZ) - Troy Police are asking for the public's assistance to locate two persons of interest connected to the Clark gas station killing of an elderly clerk.
The police have not provided an image of the persons of interest, but say they are both females and were driving a clean, black vehicle that looked like a Buick around the station around 1:30 p.m. on the day of the murder on February 8.
Police have identified the clerk as 63-year-old Athir Putres of Rochester Hills.
Putres was shot once in the head sometime late morning or early afternoon Saturday at the Clark gas station at Rochester Road and South Boulevard.
Two teens found him on the floor behind the counter. It is an older, smaller store with no bullet proof glass between the clerk and customers.
Over the weekend, police said it appeared nothing had been taken from the small store at the gas station.
But Sgt. Andy Breidenich of the Troy Police Department today said, "At this point it was premature to say nothing was missing because we don't know for sure. So we don't know if it was a robbery, or a personal vendetta or an act or passion."
Police are asking anyone who may have seen anything on Saturday to come forward.
"It was a busy time of day, not the usual for something like this occurring. a busy intersection between 12:30 and 1:30 in the afternoon on Saturday. we believe there's a lot of people out there that may have information", Sgt. Breidenich said.
The phone number for Troy Police is 248-524-0777. People with information can also call Crimestoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP.
Troy had no murders in 2013 and two in 2012, both of which were domestic issues.
