TROY, Mich. (WXYZ) - Troy Police are asking for the public's assistance in locating the suspect connected to the Clark gas station killing of an elderly clerk.
The suspect is a black make between the ages of 40-50. He is about 5'9" tall with a medium build and mustache. The suspect was last seen wearing a light gray parka.
The victim was 63-year-old clerk, Athir Putres of Rochester Hills. He was killed on February 8.
Putres was shot once in the head sometime late morning or early afternoon at the Clark gas station at Rochester Road and South Boulevard.
Two teens found him on the floor behind the counter. It is an older, smaller store with no bullet proof glass between the clerk and customers.
Police said it appeared nothing had been taken from the small store at the gas station.
Police are asking anyone who may have seen anything on Saturday to come forward.
"It was a busy time of day, not the usual for something like this occurring at a busy intersection between 12:30 and 1:30 in the afternoon on Saturday. We believe there's a lot of people out there that may have information", Sgt. Breidenich said.
Troy had no murders in 2013 and two in 2012, both of which were domestic issues.
Anyone with information on the suspect is asked to call the Troy Police Department at 248-524-3477.
