Police agencies launch aggressive traffic enforcement to keep drivers speeds down on area freeways

All freeways to see increased police patrols

Oak Park, MI (WXYZ) - Local police agencies have launched an aggressive traffic enforcement plan that will continue into the month of August.

Coordinated by Michigan State Police, the effort is being called "Operation Day-Life-Saving" and will concentrate on high speeds and aggressive driving.

Lieutenant Roderick Williams says the effort is not a revenue grab by police but a coordinated campaign to get the attention of motorists and urge them to slow down.

Patrols will be deployed five days a week, from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. during the months of April through August.
