FRENCHTOWN TOWNSHIP, MICHIGAN - Police in Monroe County's Frenchtown Township are investigating an apparent murder - suicide overnight.
The bodies of two men were found last night around 8:15 in the basement of a home in the 2900 block of N. Custer Road. Firefighters discovered that both men had died from apparent gunshot wounds.
Investigators were called in and determined that a 61-year-old man and his 58-year old brother-in-law, were involved in an physical altercation with each other in the basement before the shooting. Police say the 61-year-old man shot and killed his brother-in-law before shooting and killing himself.
Police are trying to figure out what led up to the incident.
