(WXYZ) - Workers were baffled when they saw a 65-year-old bleeding man speeding toward the clubhouse in his golf cart at Westwynd Golf Course in Oakland Township on Thursday.
Police believe his own golfing buddy attacked him with a golf club.
According to investigators, on the 12th hole, the victim asked 59-year-old Glenn Steven Lott about the score.
Then things turned violent fast.
Officers told 7 Action News, Lott took his Callaway 5-iron and struck the victim. During the process, the club broke in half.
That is when it is alleged Lott used half of it to stab the victim in the arm.
Reports state the other two men in the group held Lott down as the victim made his escape.
Eventually, investigators told 7 Action News Lott broke free and started chasing the victim in another golf cart.
According to witnesses, he was seen driving toward him and shouting that he was going to get him.
Investigators believe that when he saw several witnesses around the area, he left the scene.
Officers arrested him at his Oakland Township home.
The victim was taken to the hospital and received numerous stitches for his injuries.
The suspect was taken to the Oakland County Jail on Felonious Assault. His bond was set for $100,000 cash, no ten percent.
