Couple suspected of pickpocketing across state, strikes Troy Kohl's

(WXYZ) - Police are trying to find two people they believe are responsible for stealing wallets out of the purses of shoppers.

The latest case happened in Troy at the Kohl’s off John R.

According to Troy investigators, a man walked up to a 58-year-old shopper and distracted her while asking a question pertaining to his grandmother.

While her attention was focused on the stranger, a woman wearing hospital scrubs reached into her purse and stole her wallet.

The pair of pick-pockets escaped and rang up her charge card.  They bought gift cars from Target and Best Buy.

The two suspects are believed to be part of a crime spree across the state.  Police believe they committed similar crimes in the areas of Lansing, Grand Rapids, and Holland.

They have linked the suspects to cases through surveillance video

According to Troy investigators, the male suspect is believed to be in his 40s.  The female suspect was wearing hospital scrubs.

Police are looking for a possible third suspect who is believed to be the getaway driver.

They have released pictures of the suspects.
