SUPERIOR TWP., Mich. (WXYZ) - UPDATE:
7 Action News has learned that Stanley Harrison is in custody. We are working to learn more information about this development.
A young mother of two is stabbed and killed in her Superior Twp. home and police are trying to find her killer.
Around 2:30 this morning, police got a 9-1-1 call from Shandar Turner, a 23 year-old woman who said she'd just been stabbed.
When police got to her apartment in the 8000 block of MacArthur Blvd. they found Turner bleeding on her front lawn.
She was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Investigators say Stanley Harrison is the man responsible for her murder. He was recently paroled from prison after serving a 3-30 year sentence for an unarmed robbery several years ago.
He was released from prison on Tuesday. Investigators don't have a motive for the murder, but say Harrison and Turner had been in a relationship.
Harrison is considered armed and dangerous and police need your help to find him.
"Because of his history and what we believe he did here... people should use caution," says Derrick Jackson with the Washtenaw County Sheriff's Office.
Neighbors tell 7 Action News that Turner lived at that apartment with her twin 4-year-old sons.
"She loved being a mother," says friend and neighbor Nicole McCoy-Coleman.
Police say Turner's twin boys were at home when their mother was stabbed, but it's not clear what, if anything, they witnessed.
Neighbors say Harrison is not the father of the twin boys.
