SOUTHFIELD, Mich. (WXYZ) - Republican Pete Hoekstra is challenging Incumbent Democrat Debbie Stabenow in the race for U.S. Senate.
"The real priority is all about economic growth," said Hoekstra during a sit down interview. "I would embrace energy independence. America now has this great new technology that has given us access to great new finds of oil and natural gas. That is 500 billion dollars of money that right now we send over seas and can keep here in America."
The former U.S. Representative says one thing he would have done differently from his opponent, is voted for the Keystone Pipeline to encourage job creation.
They also disagree on how health care should be addressed in the United States. Hoekstra says he would repeal the Affordable Care Act.
