Among those in attendance candidate was Wayne County Executive Democratic candidate Warren Evans. Evans won the primary nomination on Tuesday.

He addressed the standing room only crowd inside the hall on campus where more than a hundred people were in attendance.

In the crowd, Debbie Dingell the wife of longtime Congressman John Dingell. She's the Democratic candidate vying for her husband's seat in the 12th Congressional District.

And in the crowd of late arrivals, Southfield's own Brenda Lawrence. She's been in public office for 13 years and now she's claiming the victory in the primary for the 14th District Congressional seat.
