ELECTION DAY: Help keep an eye on polling places throughout metro Detroit; Use #7Votes hashtag

DETROIT (WXYZ) -

County clerks tell 7 Action News they expect large numbers of voters going to the polls on Election Day. We want to hear from you on Tuesday: Tell us how smooth the process is at your polling place.

Whether voting is a breeze or you encounter long lines, we'd love to hear about your experience.

The best way to tell our newsroom about your polling place and also share with other voters is to use Twitter. We'll be monitoring the hashtag #7Votes all day. If you're on Twitter, just add #7Votes into your tweet to tell us how it goes.

Be sure to also send us photos! If you wear any patriotic apparel, see long lines at your polling place, or snag yourself an "I voted" sticker, snap a pic and email it to sendit@wxyz.com. We'll use the photos in a gallery online and possibly on-air.

Of course, if you encounter a problem, you can call our newsroom at 248-827-9407 to report any news.

If your phone has our apps for Android or iPhone, you can also tap the "Report News" button. This lets you call, email or send a photo.

Please respect the rules of your polling place. Taking photos is prohibited while you are inside, but if there is a long line extending outside, you can snap a photo and email it to us ( webteam@wxyz.com ) or post it to Twitter.

Remember, polls open at 7:00 a.m. and close at 8 p.m. If you don't know where you're supposed to go to vote, visit http://wxyz.com/vote

Throughout the day, we want to hear from you. Send a tweet and we may use it during our live Election Day webcasts. Join us on WXYZ.com and our mobile apps for webcasts from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. and then from 7:30 p.m. through about 10:00 p.m.

We'll have you covered all day and all night – until the last of the election results come in. And we'd love to hear from you about your voting experience.
