New Detroit City Council by district takes shape

(WXYZ) - The new Detroit City Council is taking shape, with the people of Detroit choosing their representatives by district for the first time in decades.

The results as we have them at this point are as follows:

District 1 - 100% reporting

  • Wanda Jan Hill - 7,191 votes or 32%
  • James Tate - 15,615 votes or 68%

District 2 - 100% reporting

  • Richard Bowers Jr. - 11,642 votes or 47%
  • George Cushingberry Jr. - 13.259 votes or 53% 

District 3 - 100% reporting

  • Francine Adams - 5,067 votes or 36%
  • Scott Benson - 8,887 votes or 64%

District 4 - 99% reporting

  • Bettie Cook Scott - 7,128 votes or 46%
  • Andre Spivey - 8,359 votes or 54%

District 5 - 100% reporting

  • Adam Hollier - 9,411 votes or 47%
  • Mary Sheffield - 10,729 votes or 53%

District 6 - 100% reporting

  • Raquel Castaneda-Lopez - 6,781 votes or 57%
  • Isaac Robinson - 5,217 votes or 43%

District 7 - 100% reporting

  • John Bennett - 8,381 votes or 50%
  • Gabe Leland - 8,431 votes or 50%

At-Large - 100%

  • David Bullock - 39,032 votes or 18%
  • Saunteel Jenkins - 76,990 votes or 35%
  • Brenda Jones - 77,014 votes or 35%
  • Roy McCalister Jr. - 29,879 votes or 12%
