Riverview voters to consider school bond proposal during August primary

RIVERVIEW, Mich. (WXYZ) - Voters in Riverview are being asked to decide on a bond proposal when they head to the polls to vote in the August 7 primary election.

The city wants to raise almost $32 million for the school district. The bond would be assessed at 2.1 mills in 2012  for a net increase of 6.20 mills in 2013 and would be outstanding for 30 years.

If passed the bond would be used to remodel and update the equipment at Riverview's high school, middle school and elementary school.

The money would also be sued to improve the district's athletic facilities and playfields.
