(WXYZ) - Jurors in the Jeffrey Pyne murder trial on Friday heard testimony that raised questions about the defendant's alibi.
Jeffrey Pyne told investigators he was transplanting Lilac bushes for a neighbor when his mother Ruth Pyne was killed in May of last year in their Highland Township home. But that neighbor, Diane Needham, testified he moved the bushes four days before the murder.
Jeffrey Pyne also called that neighbor and left her a voice mail message saying he had been to her house to do some other work.
The prosecution is trying to show the jury that was right at the time Ruth Pyne was killed and could have been from a smart, cold blooded killer who had just beaten and stabbed his own mother.
