(WXYZ) - A small but vocal group of union workers from across the state assembled inside the Sterling Heights Chamber of Commerce. It was one of several rallies across the area this weekend.
Organizers are trying to stop right-to-work legislation from passing.
With Republican majorities in both the House and Senate and Governor Snyder ready to sign on the dotted line, it does not appear protesters have much chance in stopping right-to-work from becoming a reality. But that won't stop them from making their voices heard.
Bigger gatherings also took place this weekend, including a demonstration training session at a union hall in Dearborn. Last week thousands of workers descended on the Capitol to get their message out. Tuesday even bigger protests are planned.
