Real Housewives stars promise to help Detroit charity

(WXYZ) - Could two of the Real Housewives of Atlanta be teaming up for a Detroit local charity?

A week ago, some fans would have thought they would have heard "Ms. NeNe Leakes"  say "blunk" to the idea of partnering up with castmate Kenya Moore.

It had been no secret the two housewives had been at odds.

On the season finale of the show on Bravo TV, the topic came up about Moore, a Detroit native and former Miss USA, and her feeling's on Leakes' behavior at the ex beauty queen's charity event and things got heated.

The two began arguing when Moore said she felt disrespected.

Eventually, Leakes suggested putting their differences aside for  moment and she would donate $20,000 to a charity of Moore's choice if Moore would match it.

The Cass Tech grad suggested Detroit Public Schools Foundation.

Since the Sunday episode, there is a lot of speculation whether it will happen.  So far, the foundation has not been in contact either housewife about this agreement.

"People have been stopping to ask whether we have received the money, what we will do with the money, and has it yet arrived," said foundation president Glenda Price.

7 Action News reached out to Moore and Leakes for comment but have not received any word back.

Those at the foundation are hoping the two can work together, at least for charity.

"We are gratified that we have been named as a worthy charity and should we received the dollars, it will certainly go toward the benefit of the students within the Detroit Public Schools," said Price.

According to Price there will be no reason to wonder whether they received the money because if the foundation receives the checks there will be a huge announcement.
