The countdown is on, just seven days to count 4.8 million ballots all by hand.

Oakland County's recount started Monday and both Wayne and Macomb counties start today.

There are 65 people hired specifically to help recount the votes.

The county clerk will be holding a meeting this morning and as soon as the ballots arrive from Macomb County municipalities, the new hires and volunteers will start recounting every presidential vote by hand.

On Monday, we were there as Oakland County started the recount process and today at Cobo Hall, Wayne County will also dive into the daunting task of examining the more than 800,000 ballots cast.

They’ve hired 125 temporary “recounters” – including volunteers.

Just because the recount has begun doesn’t mean it’s a done deal. Attorneys for President-elect Donald Trump as well as Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette are still trying to stop the recount.

They will be presenting their arguments this afternoon at the Michigan State Appeals Court.
