2 DPD officers save sleeping tenants at southwest apartment building

DETROIT, Mich. (WXYZ) - 2 Detroit police officers are credited with saving the lives of 4 people who were sleeping, when a fire broke out early Friday morning at a southwest apartment complex.

At least one person was taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation.

The complex has 4 apartment buildings on top of a business, and when police officers were on the scene at another apartment, that's when they began banging on the doors to get people out of the burning building.

Everyone was able to get out okay.
