Fourth of July filled with fallen trees and flooded streets as storms rolled though

DETROIT, Mich (WXYZ) - It was not the Fourth of July some expected at all! It was a holiday filled with fallen trees and flooded streets as storms rolled though on July 4.

On West Hilldale in Detroit a tree fell on a fireman's house while the fireman was around the corner dealing with a downed wire.

In Palmer Woods, trees toppled like toys. Some trees were pulled from their roots. One tree took down a utility pole. Joseph Baltimore couldn't believe what he saw when he walked out his front door.  "It was terrible he said, not good."

There was flooding on 8 Mile Road.

A man on a motorcycle even tried to go through the water but did not make it and there was flooding on I-75. Traffic was backed up in both directions.

The only good news is that no one was injured and that the storms brought neighbors outside working together.  They are just hoping this is the end to the storms and the damage.
