Bobby Ferguson says he doesn't want to fill out an asset form without a lawyer to advise him

DETROIT (WXYZ) - Bobby Ferguson still needs a new lawyer for his upcoming bid-rigging case.

But today, when a judge asked him if needed the court to appoint an attorney, Ferguson told the judge he did not want to fill out a form that lists his assets without a lawyer to advise him.

The feds believe Ferguson is hiding assets.

The government has seized millions of dollars from the convicted former contractor.

Ferguson's lawyers in the Kilpatrick corruption case say Ferguson doesn't want to say he's indigent because the feds are holding on to his money, out of fear that could later be used against him.

His retrial on the bid-rigging case is scheduled to begin next month.
