Car and bike burst into flames after driver runs over motorcycle on the Lodge in Detroit

DETROIT (WXYZ) - William Robinson says he was driving on the Lodge freeway near Clairmont in Detroit when three motorcycle flew past him.

He says he didn't think anything about it until a few moments later when he could not avoid one of the motorcycles, that was lying in the middle of the roadway.

Robinson says he heard a loud boom when he ran over the bike. The collision caused the motorcycle and his car to burst into flames.

Robinson says he was able to get his seat belt off and made it out of his car just in time. He was not injured.

A witness told him that the rider of that motorcycle had had an accident right before the crash.

We're told the rider made it to the side of the road just before Robinson hit his bike.
