DETROIT (WXYZ) - Two men accused in a Craigslist crime ring shoot at police as officers surrounded them at a Chase Bank on Grand River. The undercover investigators spent the afternoon and evening on Monday tracking the accused robbers.
Police sources tell Action News the men in question are wanted for using Craigslist to set up fake deals, luring buyers from the suburbs into Detroit and then robbing them.
When undercover investigators followed them into a bank drive thru and moved in to arrest the two men, we're told one of the guys fired a shot from an assault rifle. No one was hit and officers were able to arrest the two men.
Detectives think the two men are part of a larger network of thieves using Craigslist and other web sites.
