DETROIT (WXYZ) - A corporate lifeline is in the works tonight for Detroit's troubled fleet of emergency vehicles.
Worn out police cruisers and broken down ambulances have been a problem for years.
But we've confirmed Mayor Dave Bing and business leaders quietly came up with a plan to address the issue.
The companies are expected to donate enough money to pay for 100 new police cars and about 2-dozen new ambulances.
For first responders, the new rigs can't come soon enough.
Mayor Bing is expected to make the formal announcement on the first of its kind partnership on Monday
